Best Residential Proxies for Web Scraping in 2026

10 Min Read

Every scraping project hits the same wall sooner or later. The script works on page one, then the 403s start, then the CAPTCHAs, then the soft blocks that return a page with no data in it. Anti-bot systems score the IP behind every request before they look at anything else, and addresses registered to hosting companies are the first to be challenged. Residential proxies fix that by routing each request through a real household connection, so your scraper looks like ordinary visitors spread across thousands of homes.

But residential providers differ wildly on the things that decide your cost per page: price per GB, pool quality, targeting, data expiry and how well they pair with static IPs for the heavy parts of a crawl. We compared eight of them. Competitor details come from each provider's own pricing and product pages, checked in October 2026 and linked below.

TL;DR

  • CleanProxies has the best residential proxies for web scraping in 2026. 50M+ IPs in 190+ countries (19.7 million in the US), city and state targeting, rotation per request or sticky sessions up to 90 minutes, unlimited threads and 0 fraud score IPs.

  • It's the cheapest: as low as $0.63/GB, the cheapest pricing in the market, and the data never expires.

  • It pairs with the best US ISP proxies. CleanProxies specializes in US ISP proxies on Tier-1 carriers (Cox, Spectrum, Frontier, Verizon, Comcast, RCN, AT&T and T-Mobile) with unlimited bandwidth from $0.75/IP, the ideal home for the heavy, repeat fetches of any crawl.

What matters for scraping, in order

  1. Cost per successful page. Price per GB times page weight, divided by success rate. A cheap GB that gets blocked half the time isn't cheap.

  2. IP quality. Clean IPs mean fewer CAPTCHAs, fewer retries and fewer wasted GB.

  3. Rotation control. Per-request rotation for lists, sticky sessions for paginated or logged-in flows.

  4. Geo-targeting. Prices, search results and stock levels change by state and city.

  5. Concurrency. Thread caps limit throughput.

  6. Data expiry. Scraping volume is bursty, so monthly-reset plans waste money in quiet months.

  7. A static option for the heavy parts. Repeat fetches of the same URLs are cheaper on unlimited-bandwidth ISP IPs.

What residential and ISP proxies are, and why carrier IPs matter

A rotating residential proxy routes your request through a real home connection from a large pool, picking a new IP per request or holding one for a sticky session. A US ISP proxy is a static IP registered to a consumer carrier such as Comcast or Spectrum, hosted on server hardware. Both carry the trust of a consumer carrier ASN, which is what anti-bot systems check first.

The best scraping setups use both: residential for discovery across millions of pages and locations, and a block of dedicated ISP IPs for logged-in scraping and steady, high-volume fetches where per-GB billing gets expensive. That's why we rate providers on both.

1. CleanProxies: the best residential proxies for scraping, at the lowest price

CleanProxies rotating residential proxies give you 50M+ IPs in 190+ countries. The deepest pools are in the US (19.7 million IPs), Germany, the UK and France. You get city and state targeting, rotation per request or per session, and sticky sessions up to 90 minutes, through one gateway endpoint over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5, with username/password or IP-whitelist authentication and no cap on threads.

Why it's #1 for scraping:

  • The cheapest pricing in the market, as low as $0.63/GB, self-serve with no subscription.

  • GB never expire. Ideal for scrapers whose volume swings month to month.

  • 0 fraud score IPs from real consumer connections on Tier-1 telecom networks, so more requests succeed and your cost per page stays low.

  • Unlimited threads and a real-time usage dashboard.

  • 99.9% uptime and 24/7 dedicated support from the same team that runs BartProxies.

The US ISP advantage. CleanProxies' specialty is US ISP proxies: real USA IPs on Cox, Spectrum, Frontier, Verizon, Comcast and RCN, plus AT&T and T-Mobile, 100% dedicated, on 100Gbps ports with under 20 ms average latency, unlimited bandwidth and threads, from $0.75/IP. Put the logged-in and repeat-fetch parts of your crawl on those, and keep residential for the wide discovery work. Add mobile proxies as low as $0.79/GB for the strictest targets, all from one balance.

2. Decodo

Decodo's residential pricing runs from $3.75/GB on a 3 GB monthly plan to $2.00/GB at 1,000 GB, with pay-as-you-go at $4/GB, plus VAT. It advertises 115M+ IPs with targeting down to ZIP and ASN.

Where it falls short: monthly subscriptions rather than non-expiring data, sticky sessions up to 30 minutes (against 90 at CleanProxies), and a lowest rate more than three times CleanProxies' floor. See CleanProxies vs Decodo.

3. Webshare

Webshare's residential proxies cost $3.50/GB at 1 GB, falling through $2.25 at 100 GB to $1.40 at 3,000 GB, billed monthly. It lists 80M+ IPs in 195 countries.

Where it falls short: monthly plans that auto-renew, and a floor more than double CleanProxies'. Its static IPs start with a 250 GB bandwidth allowance, so heavy repeat fetches don't move cheaply onto static IPs. See CleanProxies vs Webshare.

4. SOAX

SOAX prices residential and mobile at the same credit rate. US traffic costs $5.00/GB on the Sandbox plan, $3.00 on Builder ($200/month), $2.20 on Team, $1.50 on Scale, and from $0.85 on the $3,000/month Enterprise plan. ASN and ZIP targeting unlock on Scale.

Where it falls short: credits on monthly plans expire after 60 days, there's no free trial, and the lowest rate requires a $3,000 monthly commitment. No static ISP product is listed. See CleanProxies vs SOAX.

5. Oxylabs

Oxylabs' residential pricing runs from $6/GB at small volumes to $2.50/GB at 1,000+ GB, with subscription plans from $30 to $2,500+ per month, and it advertises 100M+ IPs.

Where it falls short: the pricing page lists restricted target categories (including banking, government, streaming and ticketing) and says self-service purchases are non-refundable. Its ISP proxies are shared with up to 3 users. See CleanProxies vs Oxylabs.

6. Bright Data

Bright Data's residential pricing lists pay-as-you-go at $8/GB and committed tiers down to $5/GB on a $1,999/month plan, with a 50%-off promotion running when we checked. It advertises 400M+ residential IPs.

Where it falls short: the highest list prices in this roundup, monthly commitments to reach lower rates, and KYC before residential use. See CleanProxies vs Bright Data.

7. IPRoyal

IPRoyal lists 1, 2 and 10 GB plans at $7.00, $5.95 and $5.25 per GB, then custom pricing of $1.75/GB from 10 TB, on 64M+ IPs with traffic that never expires.

Where it falls short: nothing is published between 10 GB and 10 TB, so most scraping teams can't see their rate without a sales call. See CleanProxies vs IPRoyal.

8. Byteful

Byteful charges $3.25/GB at 10 GB down to $2.75/GB at 100 GB, with custom pricing beyond, on 35M+ IPs with non-expiring bandwidth.

Where it falls short: the smallest pool here, and published pricing that stops at 100 GB. See CleanProxies vs Byteful.

What the numbers mean in practice

Page weight drives cost. The median home page is 2.56 MB on mobile and 2.86 MB on desktop (HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2025). At CleanProxies' $0.63/GB, 1,000 full page loads at 2.56 MB cost about $1.61 in residential traffic. At $2.50/GB, the same pages cost $6.40. Block images, fonts and media, and both numbers drop sharply, but the ratio stays.

Success rate multiplies price. If 30% of requests come back blocked, every successful page costs 1.4 times the sticker rate. Clean, 0 fraud score IPs keep that multiplier close to 1.

Repeat fetches belong on ISP IPs. Monitoring the same few hundred URLs every hour on per-GB residential adds up fast. On CleanProxies US ISP proxies with unlimited bandwidth, the cost per IP is flat however much you fetch.

Key stats for scraping teams:

  • Bots now outnumber humans online. Imperva's 2025 Bad Bot Report found automated traffic was 51% of all web traffic in 2024, with bad bots at 37%. Expect your targets to keep tightening.

  • AI crawlers are adding pressure. AI bots averaged 4.2% of HTML requests in 2025, according to Cloudflare's 2025 Year in Review.

  • Sourcing matters. In January 2026, Google disrupted the IPIDEA residential proxy network, finding its SDKs in over 600 Android apps and over 550 threat groups using its exit nodes in one week. Google's view: "any claims of 'ethical sourcing' must be backed by transparent, auditable proof of user consent."

Which one should you pick?

Pick CleanProxies. It's the cheapest residential pool here, the data never expires, and it pairs residential with dedicated US ISP proxies on named Tier-1 carriers, with no bandwidth cap, from $0.75/IP.

What to test before you commit

  1. Check IP location and network with our free proxy checker.

  2. Measure cost per successful page on your real target: requests, successes, GB used.

  3. Block what you don't parse. Images, video and fonts in headless browsers, or request only HTML and JSON.

  4. Use sticky sessions only where state matters, and rotate everywhere else. See rotating vs sticky sessions.

  5. Retry smartly. Back off on 429s and rotate on 403s. Our list of proxy mistakes that cause bans covers the usual culprits, and our code examples show the setup.

  6. Start with the $4.99 trial. The CleanProxies trial includes 100 MB of residential data, or 5 US ISP proxies for 1 hour, enough to test your real targets.

Frequently Asked Questions

CleanProxies. Its rotating residential proxies give you 50M+ IPs in 190+ countries (19.7 million in the US), city and state targeting, per-request rotation or sticky sessions up to 90 minutes, unlimited threads and data that never expires, at the cheapest pricing in the market, as low as $0.63/GB.

Multiply pages by page weight. The median home page is about 2.56 MB on mobile, so 1,000 full page loads use roughly 2.5 GB. Blocking images, fonts and media, or fetching only HTML and JSON, usually cuts that by more than half.

Rotate per request for lists, search pages and product crawls. Use sticky sessions (up to 90 minutes on CleanProxies) for pagination, carts and logged-in flows. For one IP over days, use a dedicated US ISP proxy instead.

When you fetch the same URLs repeatedly at high volume, or scrape behind a login. CleanProxies US ISP proxies on Tier-1 carriers like Comcast, Spectrum and Verizon have unlimited bandwidth from $0.75/IP, which is often cheaper than per-GB residential for steady, heavy crawls.

Using proxies is legal in most places, but what you collect and how matters. Collect public data, respect each site's terms and rate limits, use official APIs where they exist, and choose a provider that can explain how its IPs are sourced.

In January 2026 Google disrupted the IPIDEA residential proxy network after finding its SDKs in over 600 Android apps and over 550 threat groups using its exit nodes in one week. A badly sourced pool can disappear overnight, and its IPs may already be flagged.
