Marketplace is built around a Facebook login: messaging, selling and most browsing happen on an account. Every view is tied to an account you control and to Meta's terms, so there is no anonymous research mode to scale up.
Facebook Marketplace is where many local businesses and resellers sell furniture, cars, electronics and more, and it runs inside a Facebook login. What each person sees depends on the location and radius set on their account, and Meta watches seller accounts closely. This page is about running your Marketplace selling accounts steadily and studying your local market within Meta's rules.
How Facebook Marketplace localises, limits and checks traffic, and what that means for your setup.
Marketplace is built around a Facebook login: messaging, selling and most browsing happen on an account. Every view is tied to an account you control and to Meta's terms, so there is no anonymous research mode to scale up.
Marketplace shows listings around the location and within the radius set in Marketplace settings. Change the location there to see another area; the IP should be consistent rather than jump to that city.
Meta can limit or remove Marketplace access for accounts that break its commerce policies or look like spam, such as duplicate listings or bulk messages. A proxy does not change that.
Businesses that sell from a catalogue manage it in Meta's Commerce Manager. Use it for your own products instead of automating the Marketplace interface.
Our recommendation for Facebook Marketplace, and when the second option is the better choice.
Every Marketplace action happens on a Facebook account, and Meta checks where accounts sign in. A static ISP proxy gives each selling account one fixed US or Canadian home-ISP IP, so a shop's staff can list, reply and mark items sold from the same location every day.
Dedicated static IPs registered to US and Canadian ISPs. The address stays the same for as long as you hold it, with unlimited bandwidth and HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 access.
Many sellers run Marketplace from the Facebook app on a phone, and our ISP IPs are US and Canada only. For an app-run account, or one based outside North America, use a sticky mobile session in the account's own country (country-level targeting).
4G/5G IPs on mobile carrier networks in 150+ countries, rotating or sticky, for traffic that should look like a phone.
Every CleanProxies proxy connects over HTTP(S) with the credentials in your dashboard; ISP and ISP subnet proxies also run SOCKS5. Test them with the free proxy checker and convert lists with the proxy list formatter.
Buy a static ISP proxy for each Facebook account that sells on Marketplace, in the country the account belongs to (US or Canada).
Load the proxy into a browser profile used only for that account, and secure the account with two-factor authentication before you start.
If the account is run from the Facebook app, or is based outside the US and Canada, route the phone through a sticky mobile session in the account's country.
Set the location and radius in Marketplace settings to the area you sell in, and leave them there instead of moving the account around.
Meta's terms forbid automated collection of data from its products without permission, fake accounts, and spam or misleading listings. Use proxies to keep legitimate selling accounts on consistent connections and to view your local market by hand, not to scrape listings or profiles, run extra accounts or return after a Marketplace restriction. CleanProxies customers must follow our Terms of Service and the laws that apply to them; this page is general guidance, not legal advice.
