How to set up Proxifier with CleanProxies
In Proxifier, open Profile → Proxy Servers → Add, enter your CleanProxies host and port, choose SOCKS Version 5 (or HTTPS), tick authentication and enter your username and password. Then set a Proxification Rule so the apps you choose use that proxy.
What you need
- An active CleanProxies plan: static ISP proxies for fixed US IPs, or rotating residential / mobile proxies for pools. The trial works too.
- Your credential line from the dashboard's proxy manager: host (or IP), port, username and password.
- Proxifier for Windows (v4) or macOS (v3).

Your CleanProxies credentials
| Product | Line in your dashboard | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static ISP proxies | IP:PORT:USER:PASS | One line per dedicated IP. With IP whitelisting turned on, the line is just IP:PORT and no password is sent. |
| Rotating residential and mobile | HOST:PORT:USER:PASS | Generated in the proxy manager. The username carries the location and session you pick, so generate a new list to change them. |
Most tools want the same details as a URL: http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT for HTTP(S) or socks5://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT for SOCKS5. The examples on this page use those placeholders; copy the host, port, username and password from your CleanProxies dashboard. To convert a whole list at once, paste it into the proxy list formatter.
How to set up CleanProxies in Proxifier
- 1
Add the proxy server
Profile → Proxy Servers → Add. Enter your CleanProxies host (or IP) in Address and the port in Port. - 2
Pick the protocol
Choose SOCKS Version 5 for any TCP traffic, or HTTPS (Proxifier's name for an HTTP CONNECT proxy, which tunnels any port). - 3
Enter credentials
Enable authentication and enter your username and password. With an ISP proxy on IP whitelisting, leave it off. - 4
Check, then add a rule
Click Check to run the Proxy Checker, then open Profile → Proxification Rules and send the apps you want through the new proxy.
Write proxification rules
Rules are matched top to bottom. Each one has applications, target hosts, ports and an action: Direct, a proxy, a chain or Block. The built-in Localhost rule keeps local traffic direct.
Localhost Any app localhost; 127.0.0.1 Direct
Scraper via ISP python.exe; node.exe Any Proxy SOCKS5 HOST
Default Any app Any DirectSet the Default rule's action to your proxy to send everything through it, or keep it Direct and proxy only named apps, which is safer for your own system updates.
Resolve DNS through the proxy
Open Profile → Name Resolution. The default detects DNS settings automatically. Untick it and choose Resolve hostnames through proxy so lookups happen on the CleanProxies side and don't leak from your machine. Proxifier then uses placeholder IPs internally, so rules based on target IP ranges stop matching; write rules by hostname instead.
Static ISP vs rotating residential in Proxifier
Static ISP proxies
Add each dedicated US ISP IP as its own proxy server and point different apps at different IPs. They stay fixed, with unlimited bandwidth for heavy desktop tools.
Rotating residential proxies
Add a rotating line to give each new connection a new residential IP, or a sticky line when an app holds a login. Proxifier proxies per connection, so long-lived connections keep their IP either way.
Verify your exit IP
Proxy Checker (the Check button, or View → Proxy Checker on Windows) runs a test and reports latency and recommendations. Then open a proxified browser to What is my IP? and confirm the address.
Open What is my IP? through the proxy to see the address and headers a website receives, or paste up to ten lines into the free proxy checker to test connectivity, latency and exit IP before you start.
Troubleshooting Proxifier proxy errors
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Proxy Checker fails at authentication | Credentials missing or the wrong protocol. | Re-enter the username and password; use SOCKS Version 5 or HTTPS, not SOCKS 4. |
| App still shows your real IP | No rule matches the app, or a rule above it sends it Direct. | Move your proxy rule above broader Direct rules and check the app name. |
| DNS leak test shows your ISP | Automatic DNS detection resolved locally. | Enable Resolve hostnames through proxy in Name Resolution. |
| Plain HTTP option missing | Proxifier hides HTTP proxies by default. | Use HTTPS (CONNECT), which works with CleanProxies HTTP(S) credentials. |

Proxifier proxy FAQs
Both work with CleanProxies. SOCKS Version 5 is the most general choice. HTTPS in Proxifier means an HTTP CONNECT proxy, which also tunnels any port.
